Burst crystals, infused with a mysterious psychic energy, allow certain Pokémon to undergo a transformation when equipped with a burst crystal. The burst evolution enhances the Pokémon’s abilities, modifies its stats, and adds three unique moves to its movepool. To trigger a burst evolution, simply equip a burst crystal on your Pokémon and send it into battle; the Pokémon will automatically burst evolve when thrown out or during battle initiation. Removing the burst crystal clears the added moves from the Pokémon’s movepool, making the process temporary. The origins of burst evolution and the psychic energy remain a mystery, with some believing it came from Ultra Space or from a affect of an ancient Pokémon.
